David DePatie started a career in informational technology in 1975 learning FORTRAN and COBOL.
Educated at St. Leo University and graduated Cum Laude in Business Administration while he ran his own small engine Motorcycle & Moped shop.
He continued his education, at then, Santa Fe Community College, becoming certified in CompTIA A+, Network + and became a Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate.
He then joined the instructional team at Santa Fe Community College and became the Microsoft Lead Instructor and taught the entire Instructional Technology curriculum including CGS1000, CompTIA Certifications, including the curriculum he introduced for Security + and Cisco Certified Network Associate program. During his time at Santa Fe, David designed an entirely new curriculum to teach the students how to build and service commuters from scratch.
After seventeen years he moved on to become a corporate trainer and internet manager at Gatorland Toyota. Where he was the number two sales associate in three years.
He then landed at the University of Florida in 2010 and has become an Instructional designer, Web Smith and IT support in the Food and Resource Economics Department.
He currently assists instructors creating materials for face to face as well as online classes.
During his time at UF, In 2014, David won an award for best online class in Soil and Water Sciences with Dr Susan Curry.
