Installing/Configuring VMWare Server for Windows

  1. Go to vmware.com and register for a serial number.
  2. Download Vmware Server 1.0.9 from the ITE server.
  3. Install VMware Server using default options, unchecking "Yes, disable autorun".
  4. Configure VMware Server
    • Go to Start, All Programs, VMWare, VMWare Server, Manage Virtual Networks
    • In the Virtual Network Editor dialog box, Go to the Host Virtual Network Mapping tab
    • Choose the arrow on the right of VMNet1, select subnet, enter 10.1.1.0/24
    • Choose the arrow on the right of VMNet8, select subnet, enter 192.168.116.0/24
    • Apply
    • Go to the DHCP tab
    • Select VMNet1, click the Remove button
    • Restart
    • Apply
    • Go to the NAT tab
    • Verify that VMNet8 has Gateway IP address of 192.168.116.2/24 and the NAT Service is started.
    • Choose OK
